How can I submit the inheritance certificate to the Bank?

In person – by presenting a valid identification document, a certificate of inheritance, and an inheritance distribution agreement, if such an agreement has been concluded between the heirs. The inheritance distribution agreement must be notarized.

Remotely – if there is an electronic signature and the notary has signed the certificate of inheritance electronically. The bank remotely accepts only certificates of inheritance issued in the Republic of Latvia, which have been signed by a notary with a secure electronic signature and where the amount does not exceed 10 000 EUR.

The certificate of inheritance, signed by the notary with a secure electronic signature, can be attached here, along with:

• a completed and electronically signed application form for the payout of inherited funds:
  – if you are the sole heir, please fill out the application for payment of inherited funds to the sole heir. 
  – if you are one of several heirs, please fill out the application for payment of inherited funds to one of several heirs. 
• a valid identification document* (identity card must be visible from both sides).
• inheritance distribution agreement, if it has been concluded between the heirs and signed by a notary with a secure electronic signature.

If you are our customer and use online bank, you can also submit the certificate of inheritance, signed by a notary with a secure electronic signature, through online banking.

We will contact you about the application within 1-3 working days.

* The identification document must be attached if you are not our customer or if you are our customer but have not updated the identification document at the Bank.
